Illuminant Surgical has launched its first observational study at Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. The study evaluates the usability and performance of Illuminant’s navigation system in live surgical environments. Following initial trials, Dr. Jeremy Steinberger, Director of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Mount Sinai, stated: “Seeing Illuminant live in the OR was seeing into the future—fast, efficient, no radiation, no need for separate incisions to set up for navigation-based surgery. Remarkable.”

This milestone study represents a major leap in Illuminant’s path to clinical adoption. By successfully integrating its system into real surgical procedures, Illuminant demonstrates both its technical reliability and practical utility. The overwhelmingly positive surgeon feedback reinforces the transformative potential of Illuminant’s platform in modern surgical workflows.
